What We do

Peca Women & Children’s Foundation is mandated to address issues relating to the promotion of the wellbeing of women and children, eradicate poverty and injustices such as inequality. PECA is currently working with both the Local Governments of Luuka and Iganga to rehabilitate and reconstruct government aided schools, promotion of girl education through wash-based activities in schools including construction of washrooms. In Iganga, PECA is rehabilitating and resettling street connected children. We work together with our partners Amigosolidarios and Petits Detalls to achieve these programs.

Smiles for Luuka project:

Through a project named Smiles for Luuka, we are working together with our partners, in government aided schools to improve on the quality of education.

Omukisa Project

In this project, we create safe spaces for former and street connected children through rescue, rehabilitation, family tracing, education, skills training and psychological support.

While at Omukisa, these children continue to learn other things like gardening;- they are taught to grow vegetables and other crops for which also becomes a source of food for them.

Abawala

Abawala is a program running in Luuka District, in three sub-counties which concentrates on equipping teenage mothers with skills, Financial literacy and sexual reproductive information to empower them.
